Muffler glowing

I just got a 2014 stanley ch7 chipper/shredder that was only used for about five hours. After i used it for about half an hour, the muffler started glowing. Anyone know what causes this? Also, there is a little catalyitic converter looking thing below the muffler that is marked DPF. I'm curios if that is really a Dpf for a diesel engine or something else.

to me it sounds like the exhaust valve is leaking.

It doesn't sound like it has an exhaust leak and the engine is only 2 years old. it only glows and spits a small flame out of the muffler when i shut it off. i think it might be due to the "DPF" that is on the pipe coming from the mannifold.

Running lean could cause it to glow.
