Tecumesh TEC-640093 Carbiretpr

Hello My Jack Small Engine forum. I have been working on my Tecumseh TEC -640093 Carburetor. I replaced the float (plastic - I think I may have installed incorrectly), nozzle, inlet need seat and clip. When I bolt every thing back up it seems that the bowl gets filled and gas is leaking out one of the ports. I am thinking I installed the float incorrectly, please help.

I will have to order a new Nut for the Float Bowl because I sheered it off thinking that was causing the leak.

Did you correctly install the seat? The 'ring' should be faced down toward the carb body and it needs to be perfectly flat in the bore which can take a few tries. Also, the open end of the clip on the needle points away from the hinge pin, the float can hang up if said clip is not correctly installed.

Thanks so much, I will go back through and check. It is amazing how tricky and delicate a carburetor is.

I need to check the seat because I am not exactly sure. I will follow the diagram more closely and see what happens.

    Thanks again.

Yeah some people push the seat too far down when installing.

If the fuel is coming out of the mouth of the carburetor then the gap between the float and the carb (where the float bowl gasket sits) might be too little! Allowing the bowl to fill up with too much fuel and run out the mouth.
I think a 13/64" drill bit should be able to slide in between the float and carb surface.
