GXV160 Hard Starting Issues

Just got a Snapper with the Honda gxv160 engine and it is incredibly hard to start. Once started I have to leave the throttle in the choke position because if I put it in the "rabbit" position the speed is too slow to cut grass. Once warmed up it will start on the first pull. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The choke is likely not closing. With the throttle in the choke position check that the lever on the engine is against the stop. If not, loosen the clamp and move the cable. The GXV160 is an extremely reliable easy starting engine if properly adjusted and without a history of neglect or abuse.

Roy, that's was the problem. A simple adjust and it starts on the first pull! Thanks for the info!
