Where to learn small engine repair?

I am looking to learn small engine repair and maybe starting my own side business eventually. Any suggestions on cheap repair books or DVDs or maybe free training online? I know pennfoster and sci have training courses available but they are rather expensive. I found a free small engine repair course at eVoc Learning but should be I concentrating more on repairing engines in my garage with a good repair book while getting some repair practice more than anything else?

I took ICS many years ago which is now Penn foster I believe. Looks like Evoc is offering just a free lesson then you have to pay for the course if you continue.
Most repair books are very helpful but some of them require that you know certain info already.

Lots of very good YouTube videos, I enjoy watching Taryls videos, donyboys are also good. Forums are also helpful. Just be careful on some advice given on both, some is good and some is junk.
However nothing is going to be better than hands on experience, you will learn a lot in the process.

Well, there are number of manuals and videos available which claim that they provides all the necessary information about engine and mower repairing. I want to share one of the best Manual which is known as we John Deere Service Manual. It provides all the necessary things required for repairing with step by step by using pictures. I think one should have it for proper assistance.

This thread is a year old, hopefully the OP followed up on some of the suggestions. A local rental yard owner hired a couple of young fellows with mechanical aptitude and an interest in the industry to work alongside himself and the part time mechanic through the busy season. It seems to be working well, I am also involved in getting them additional training through online factory schools.

Actually, there are some repairing manuals available online plus you can also learn from YouTube by watching relevant videos.
