How much connecting rod play?

Hi, new to this forum, does anybody know the amount of play should be allowed for the connecting rod on a 19.5 Briggs and Stratton 33R877-003-G1 engine?

The service manual doesn't indicate side to side connecting rod play.
Going to have some side to side play. Don't want it binding.

I wanted that to be a link but for some reason couldn't accomplish it on my cell phone yesterday. This should work though.

Mikel1 thx for the input. Im kinda throwing parts at it now. I am going to replace the connecting rod, counter weights links, and install new bushing on mag side. If that don't work then I will have to let it knock away.

Were the connecting rod bolts tight?
I had an old chevy that knocked, pistons had cracks all over them, mosquito fogger.

Yea they were tight. I did some measuring on some parts and found this... mag crank bushing is 1.282 and crank measured at 1.277. I measured the counter weight links diameter on the crank side and found one at 4 thou diff and the other was 2 thou. Both counter weight pins to counter weight link was only 1 thou diff. I spit out those numbers to ask this... does any of those differences throw a red flag to you? I didn't measure the crank pto side cause there is absolutely no play in it. When I install the crank into the mag side there is some play (wiggle) but when I install the other half of engine case there is no play on either side.

    Have you measured the crank?
Wouldn't hurt to replace mag bushing and counter weight links.

I pressed in a new mag crank bushing and the knock is gone. It was running great. However as I'm taking the victory lap I test out the mowing deck and the flywheel key on the shaft sheared off. So I get a new one and installed it, easy fix, but now something is not quite right. It barley idles and won't take gas. Any suggestions?

Your right again mike1 two flywheel keys sheared back to back. Maybe I'm not tightening the flywheel bolts down enough. I'm going to take the impact to it and tighten the mortal heck out it this time. Thx for the reply again!!!
