17.5 hp Briggsandstratton won't start

It acts like it wants to start but just will not but the muffler is getting warm.
I have replaced the spark plug.
I have clean the fly wheel of rust along with the -MAGNETO
put fresh gas in tank
putting gas in carb or starting fluid don't work

If you put fuel or starting fluid into cylinder, does it start temporarily?

I have taken the nut off and looked at the pin in the fly wheel and it all looks good to go I am working on having the compression checked as the next step in trying to find the problem.

Yeah that would be my next step.
A good time to check the travel of the valves also.

We were so close, valves. The choke wouldn't cause it to not startup with the starting fluid you used but adjusting choke would make it easier to startup. Glad it's running well, thanks for the update.
