2 to make 1

I have 2 generators , both have Briggs engines-1 with electric start. The one with electric start has quit putting out enough volts to run what I need and was wondering if I can swap the generators from one to the other??

As long as they are comparable horsepower I don't see why not. Both engines should have an SAE tapered shaft and four bolt mount on the crank case cover.
