pushrods on 12.5 HP OHV engine - are they differnt?

Reassembling a 12.5hp rideon mower engine... Just noticed that the pushrods  appear to be very slightly different in length ?
(I dont know full history of this engine ), are they  supposed to be identical or not ?
-- if one IS meant to be fractionally longer,  which pushrod should go in inlet or outlet valve ?

Cheers
 Will

On this engine they are different. One should be a aluminum one which is the intake. Will still have steel tips.

    From the service manual.
On models 210000, 280000, 310000, 330000 the intake push rod (lower, aluminum) is
hollow and the exhaust push rod (upper, steel) has a red band of paint for identification.

But double check that the exhaust and intake isn't reverse. Manuals can be wrong sometimes.

Also the red band they mention can be worn off.
