Briggs v-twin backfires on two cyl's but runs great on only one cylinder
My previous post somehow showed answered but it was not. I have a JD LA135 with a BS 22hp v-twin model 407777-0188-B1. It backfires once in awhile thru carb but mainly popping the exhaust. What is really throwing me and others is that when I pull either plug wire it runs great without backfiring or popping.
I have replaced the gas cap, the gas, fuel lines and filter, the fuel pump, the carb, the spark plugs, the air cleaner and one of the coil/module.
I have verified the flywheel key is ok, the compression is good, pulled the push rods and they are good, validated the valve clearance and that the valves are opening the same, validated the coil/module clearance is good and disconnected the kill/diode wiring connections at the coils ( both at same time) to validate the diodes are good.
I along with others are at a loss as to what is causing the problem.
