Generac GP6500E smokes

I got a GP6500E used with 466 hours on it to keep as a backup for my 10,000w B&S vangard, now the plug was caked and carb was cleaned before I got and after,it is definitely burning oil I put 10w30 diesel in and after 40 min it was at bottom of the stick. Now to get to the point I think it's the rings but one thing has me confused it smokes out the tailpipe AND has smoke coming from under the motor/where it bolts to gennerator.if it was rings it should just come from tailpipe. The other thing is when I look parts up I keep having B&S part numbers show up but I can't find a 389cc B&s on the website.Any input much appreciated.

That is because the engine is a Generac Engine and not a Briggs. What is the model of the generator serial number tag?

0059413,is the model I understand it is not a Briggs but when I look up head gasket, crank seal, and other parts it comes up with Briggs and gennerac parts with the same part number so I got the feeling Briggs made it for them.

I do know Briggs brought out Generac Portable generators recently but they are still using the Generac part numbers on the older units and I haven't seen both Briggs and Generac part numbers referring to the same parts yet. And it appears that Generac is still providing parts for the older units.

When I looked it by the model number given the following is the list units on Partstree. They all have the Generac engine.

With the head gasket looking like this. If you have a different head gasket someone may have transplanted a Briggs on it. If so then we got to find the Briggs engine numbers.

What I did was get the head gasket P/N and put it in the search on jacks ,that looks like the one that comes up

But what can cause it to smoke from under the unit?I'm tempted to remove the tailpipe and temporarily replace it with a longer one that way it comes out far far away to see where Els it leaks, it's so strange because it looks like the only place it can come from is manifold gasket or what I would call a timing cover but exhaust should not be there...

UPDATE I think it's the valve stem seal I ordred one for 8$ and will try it if it's bad it will pull vacuum thru when the piston is lowering and intake valve open, the oil in this thing was nasty when I got it so it would surprise me if the seal got damaged with extended oil changes. Compression seems good with my gauge ,with the battery dead I can only pull it so much lol

Now my next task is the hard start hot, looks like it has something in the cam to hold intake valve open when starting to make easier does anyone know what the rocket lash should be?
