Motor surging

Hi Folks,

I am hoping someone can guide me in the right direction. I recently acquired a like new Craftsman 26” snowblower with a Powermore 208cc motor that my father in-law forgot about in the corner of his garage after it started smoking and his son gave him another blower he had. It sat for 2-3 years so I knew a carb rebuild would be needed along with replacing the primer bulb which had dry rotted. In looking for the kit and part online I found a brand new carb and bulb on amazon for $15, which seemed like a no brainer. I just finished installing it and it started up but the idle is surging quite badly. Most posts say to clean/rebuild the carb but obviously I already addressed this by replacing it. Any ideas?

You need to adjust the governor.

Close, I missed a small spring on the linkages. I need better lighting in my garage. It runs great now and I’ll get to try tomorrow morning. It should be a lot better than my old 22”, but then again that thing dug us out of many a blizzard and never broke down over the 15 years I had it. I am giving it to my brother in law.
