Kohler XT173 running rich

I have a Kohler XT 173 on an Arien's mower. I took it in to a repair place for no start. Now it is running rich, sputtering and smoking (black) so bad it gives me a headache!
Recent work done to the engine, Coil, Plug, Air Cleaner, Carb Jet.

Hmmm Kohler doesn't offers a main jet replacement; unless, you need to switch to high altitude setup.

If this particular engine has an auto choke setup it may not be working as intended. Depending how since you got it back from the shop it may still be under warranty as long you don't fool with it.

I know that I put a 30 day repair warranty on any of my work. Additional parts not previously replaced are an extra charge but normally I cover the labor. It just the way I do business.

That is the work the repair shop said they did. There is no choke,it's the primer bulb type. Is it possible it's pulling fuel through the primer making it run rich?
Got a full refund on the repair. I'm pretty persuasive lol
    Thanks for your previous insight.

Primer only pushes air into the fuel bowl to force fuel up the nozzle into the carburetor throat.

Here is a troubleshooting list from the service manual.

But they did replace the main jet. It is no telling what size they used since as I said Kohler doesn't list a replacement jet other than the high altitude one which would leaner than the standard jet. Otherwise you will need to replace the carburetor.

My thoughts too. Thanks for the troubleshooting list. I'll check all those before I replace the carb.
