Kohler command pro 27hp

There are 4 wires on the harness plug coming out of the engine. I want to bench test the engine to see how it runs and I need to know which wires I need to put 12 volts to so the ignition is powered up. I don't know if any of these wires need to be connected to complete any circuit!!  You tube shows Bench testing but they never show me how their wiring the plug connector. Can any one help please?
In another matter.... I have an older Scag Mower with a 25hp and unlike my other mowers this one has what appears to be crankcase ventilation (smoke) coming from a port (it looks like a fitting for a hose on the rear of the engine) where the oil splash and smoke comes out of. Any insight into this??

I was simply looking for a way to stop the oil buildup around the back of the engine. I put a hose on it and directed it somewhere els. Seems fine now and the Pully area and Clutch are oil free. Come on guys....I may ask a stupid question once in a while but Senior Moments are ok when you get to be my age.

I know about senior moments, the last one is going to cost money. Don't ask. Do not under any circumstances feed 12 volts to the ignition, you will fry it. It is like a lawnmower or grass trimmer. Hook up a toggle or momentary contact switch between the coil and ground so you have a way to shut it off. IIf the carb has a solenoid it will need power. It sounds like the Scag engine has serious blowby issues, if an overhead valve a head gasket may have failed.
