EPA Announces it Will Require 18.11 Billion gallons of renewable fuels in 2016
Ethanol is an ongoing problem in the power equipment industry, and now the EPA has required that more of it be used. This is a 7% increase over last years requirements. But don't worry too much, that doesn't mean your local gas station will be having a higher percentage of ethanol in the fuel.
Fuels that contain more than 10% ethanol can cause serious problems for small engines and outdoor power equipment. In some areas, E15 (15% ethanol) is being implemented in the fuel pumps. E15 can void product warranties and is illegal to use in outdoor power equipment. To keep yourself and your power equipment protected, always look before you pump!
