19.5 HP on a Husqvarna articulating rider.

Three times my mower has either stopped running and backfires or backfires and stops running a few minutes after I start mowing. Looking for reasons and solutions.

Does it start again right away or do you have to wait? Check for debris in the carburetor bowl.

It takes a couple of hours before it will restart. I didn’t mention this but other times it was while the PTO was in use. Today, it started and ran about ten minutes then cut off and backfired.

Sounds like a failing ignition coil to me. Or the ignition coil is overheating due to a mouse bed under the engine shroud.

Thanks!!!  I finally got around to putting the new coil on and it appears the issue has been corrected.  LoL, still can’t use the mower because a drive cable / wire snapped when I tried to test ride the mower.  Part is on its way.
