Accidentally ran it on choke for 20 minutes!

I have a fairly new Ironton (sold by Northern Tools) 180cc pressure washer.  I accidentally ran it on choke for 20 minutes.  No excused....just a stupid mistake.  I was wondering why it was running rough and not as powerful as usual.  When I realized what was going on, I switched it to "run", and it immediately stopped.  After that, it would only backfire when I would try to start it.  I thought maybe the flywheel key was sheared, so I checked the flywheel key, and it wasn't sheared.  I wanted to adjust the valves (OHV), but can't find any specs for it.  I took off the cover, and they moved freely, but I have no idea if they need adjustment if I don't have the correct specs.  I put it all back together, tried to start it again, and it runs, but roughly, and only on 1/2 choke.  Any thoughts?

Need to actual engine model and spec/type numbers but it sounds like you had and got carburetor problems. Try cleaning the carburetor.

Thanks for the reply.  I got to thinking about it, and suspected that I may have fouled the plug.  Purchased a replacement plug, drained the tank and carb, and now all is fine!

This post caught my eye as I am having similar issues.  I have blown two spark plugs with my Honda GCV160 engine on my Homelite power washer.  I too was running the power washer with choke on for an extended time.  Could that be causing spark plug to blow out?  I am not the most mechanical, so just trying to figure all this out.

Running with the choke on won't cause plugs to blow out, either they were loose to start with or overtightened stripping the threads.

Well, after having drained the tank, drained the carb, and pulling the engine over several times with the plug removed to expel any remaining fuel, I also coughed up the money to purchase a high-quality spark plug.  I think all of these combined helped to give me a fresh start with the pressure washer (along with making sure that I didn't run it on choke, again!).  Also, for whatever it's worth, I will only put ethanol free fuel in my gas-powered equipment....nothing else!
