honda gcv160 thermowax problems

hey everyone, i have a husqvarna push mower with honda gcv 160 motor. it worked great the first summer then last summer and this summer i keep having to replace this thermowax pin. i have cleaned all the jets, replaced spark plug, air filter, gaskets. im at a loss i dont know why i keep having to replace these things. the last two i replaced seemed a tiny bit looser when i put them back in the hole. they were both honda brand. does it help to put grease in the hole to make a better connection?
any ideas?
