Ironton 180cc engine

Bought used Ironton pressure washer..
Wouldn't start, fuel problem.. Put on new carb.. Starts now on choke but won't run.. Cleaned the spark plug, smoothed out engine running on choke, but still cut out when I switched to run ... Any suggestions??

If it's running when choked, but stalls when the choke is off, the engine is not getting enough fuel. Being that you installed a new carburetor (New, right? Never used? Never had fuel?), let's take a look at fuel flow to the carburetor. Perhaps the fuel filter is clogged. Perhaps there's garbage in the fuel tank.

I would first disconnect the fuel line to the carburetor to see whether it flows well. If it does not, disconnect the line to the fuel filter. If it still does not flow well, all we have left is the fuel tank and the line itself. Drain the tank into a glass container and look for junk or fuel separation. Look down into the tank with a light and examine for rust or debris. Blow into the line, where it went into the fuel filter, and see if junk blows into the tank.

Thanks for the heads up Conrad.. Tomorrow morning I will start off with fresh fuel... Fuel flows as is ought... I'll let you know the outcome.

Are you sure the carburetor is new, has never had fuel in it?
