TroyBuilt 8.5hp wont start

Hello, I've read so many posts about repairing this engine by just cleaning the carburetor. Below is what all I have tried so far "With New Gas"

1) Tried cleaning carburator but it was sparkling clean inside. I installed it and tried to turn it over. It didn't want to start, Even with a spritz of starting fluid.

2) purchased a brand new carburetor installed it. Same thing happened as mentioned above, didn't even try to start.

3) installed a new spark plug and tried, same thing above, Didn't even want to start

4) Tested magneto came up with the correct voltage per YouTube video that I watched.

5) Purchased a spark plug tester and I could see the spark inside the little window so that worked.

I'm I'm stumped. I don't even know what to try next? The last time that I used it I was spraying with it and it just died and I couldn't start it after that. So I parked it this year. I tried to start it again. It still wouldn't start so I tried to fix it. Before that I couldn't start it each time that I used it unless I sprayed starting fluid in the carburetor and it would run fine for a long time. Never shut off.

The thing that bums me out the most is I barely even used it but I've had it for a few years. I might have used it less than five times, its always sat in garage.

Thoughts?

I got it, i changed the magnedo and it started right up. What was weird is I think it was the spark plug end. The old one you just pushed it on there and it didn't really snap but when I installed the new one and pushed it on it snapped on tight. I don't know it's fixed
