model 135292, thrown connecting rod questions
I have a model 135292 engine that threw a connecting rod. The governor spring was not working right and the engine over-revved. The rod made a crack in the side of the block when it broke. I checked so see if the piston still moves, and it does. They don't make this model engine anymore, so I would like to try to salvage it. It's from a rototiller, and has has two driveshafts, one of which is for the reverse gear. I could use some experienced advice on whether the crack could be repaired with JB weld, and also what is involved in replacing the connecting rod.
