Kohler CV460/26509

I've got a Craftsman LT1000 with a Kohler CV460 16HP engine.  The engine died on me after the exhaust blew out a huge puff of white smoke.  I started it again and it ran briefly with the same result.  I checked the engine oil dipstick only to find that it showed no oil at all and it smelled of gasoline.  I had done an oil change a couple months ago, but hadn't run the mower since then as I was restoring the rest of the mower.  I can see that I have oil leaks coming from the pto seal and the from around the governor.  The oil leak from the governor is steady even with the engine off.  I have a pool of oil on my garage floor.  I'm thinking that the carb needs a cleaning/rebuild.  I'm also planning to check the breather and replace the following seals and gaskets: governor seal, pto seal, oil pan gasket, and the o ring at the bottom of the dipstick tube.  Before I tear into the engine I'll do a compression check.  Am I missing anything?  Based on the symptoms I think there's abnormal pressure in the crankcase.

With an engine being ran without all bets are off as there is no telling what all damage is.

As replacing oil pan gasket you will most likely find that this engine does not have one instead RTV is used. [Permatex Ultra Black]

As for fuel being in the oil it most likely that carburetor will need a new float valve seat kit installed. PN 1252104S. [fuel pump fed carburetors]. Different kit is used if gravity fed. This part is not listed in a lot of the sites IPLs as they prefer selling the whole carburetor.
