Troy Bilt TB320BV No Spark

My Troy Bilt leaf blower was not getting any spark so ordered a new coil. Put it in tonight still nothing. I've tried three different spark plugs and readjusting the coil gap, still nothing. It's not that complicated of a system, am I missing something? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try it with the switch disconnected. If it works you have found your problem.

I've tried disconnecting the switch, tried another spark plug straight out of the package, even bought a new spark tester. Still nothing.

Question did you disconnect the wire to kill terminal at the coil or just at the kill switch? If at the kill switch it could still a shorted wiring harness. If at the coil then either the coil is bad, the flywheel magnets are bad, or there is a grounding issue between the coil laminates and the cylinder.

As for trying a new plug straight out the package even these can be bad. That you need to use a known good plug when testing.

Ok, I've checked the spark plug, it's good. I disconnected the wire at the coil, nothing. I checked the magnets on the flywheel, one north, one south and both will hang on to a medium size screw driver with no problem. I cleaned the coil mounting pads on the cylinder. Still nothing. The coil is brand new from Jack's. I've been told there is no way to check the coil. If there is, please let me know.

Not that I know of other than how you have already done which is mount it and spin the flywheel magnets pass the coil legs. This due to the internal electronics.

With what you said you done it is a bad new coil which isn't unheard of.

How are you checking for spark. I would recommend to go to a dark area (unlighted area) and see if there is spark if you are using a spark plug.

Tried both just using the spark plug and a spark tester.
