Pole saw recommendation for my new garden.

Hello Friends,
Getting older and not enjoying climbing ladders any longer, well, actually my husband doesn't much care for me climbing ladders; I still do when she can't see me. Anyway, I want to buy pole/chainsaw for topping some of the higher branches of my trees. I need a little heavy, but balances well, easy to use and powerful for my new garden. I am looking for a 2-in-1 detachable pole saw for hard-to-reach small limb trimming and have the ability to cut high branches 15-feet to 20-feet overhead.
Have any suggestion?

Good morning Kathy and welcome aboard. There are a number of good pole saws on the market. Stihl is the most popular among the pros, nobody comes close to them for after sales support. Bang for the buck, Echo is one of the best values on the market. It is reasonably priced and lighter than other brands. Some are happy with entry level machines but they are noisy, prone to excessive vibration and need frequent maintenance. Service is also a problem, many shops won't work on them.
Whatever you do, invest in a hard hat with face and hearing protection along with sturdy gloves and boots. Too many ways to get hurt working over your head. Good luck

Thank you so much Roy for your reply. I know a little bit about Echo brand. It is reasonable than other brand but can I get a warranty and Replaceable part of the Echo brand?

Echo has a good service network, a dealer will do a lot better than Home Depot and there will be little difference in price. The cordless tools work well when new but service life is questionable and repair centers are scarce.

You are right Roy.
Cordless tools aren't lasting more time. But I love trimming with the cordless pole saw.
On the other hand, My friend Moore Purchased the Echo PPT-266 pruner on 12/16/2017. He used it last evening for about 5 minutes to cut 3 pine limbs about 1 1/4" in diameter and it broke. Engine runs but chain won't turn, Noise in the gearbox. Very disappointed, this is the first time he ran it since purchased at the dealer a few days ago. He also purchased an Echo blower at the same time.This is first purchase of Echo products. That's why I don't like Echo Brand. Echo makes the poor quality product.

To be honest of the Echo products that I have serviced I am also disappointed in the quality and performance of the Echo line of late. The older products holds up well but not the newer products. A good example is a 3 yr old CS-330T saw here that has already worn thru the cylinder plating and now requires a new short block. Takes a couple hours to disassembly, clean, and install the new short block plus a new bar which I quoted out at $225. This don't even include my initial tear down and reassembly time as I figured the customer was going to decline which he did.

I admitted some the equipment is simply abused that leads to a early life but in your friend's case it is a defective product when can't last more than 5 minutes. It should be how covered by the warranty but I would asking for a new replacement since it is so new. Depends on Echo and the dealer's policy.

Yes, I have.
I bought Seim just like you. And getting very good performance.
It would be great if you could read some of these articles.
You will see that you can make a decision very easily.
