If they are Walbro or Zama most kits are available, use the carb numbers. If Ruixing or other offshore manufacturers just replace the carburetor, they are not worth messing with and service parts are not available.

As Roy said if these are off handheld products. Most of the Walbro and Zama Carburetor kits are available ready available with the exception of the Stihl only Zama carburetors. Stihl has gotten Zama to propriety those kits so only Stihl can sell them for nearly triple what I was paying for the same kits from my Zama distributor last year before the change. On many of the MTD handhelds used Walbro and Zama but many of the newer ones use Ruixing carbs which are similar Zama which kits are not available though sometime a few of the Zama parts will fit as these Zama clones. I have ran across one Haulong HQ-2 used on a Husqvarna which Husqvarna has a kit available but is very hard to get and is nearly as much as the carburetor itself.
The carburetors will normally have the manufacture make and model stamped or laser etched on them that you can research for available kits.
The unavailability of kits also make sense when many of carburetors on handhelds are just about as cheap as the repair kits. Why buy a $12 kit when the complete can as little as the kit. Just got research what you have in front of you on the workbench.
We as techs also do have larger carburetors on walk-behind, riders, and ZTRs that we can't not even get kits or parts for. A good example is some of the Kohler carburetors where the only thing wrong with the carburetor is the fuel bowl has eaten through holes. The only options we have is to put on a $200 carburetor.
We are at the mercy of the OEMs on this. If they provide us the parts fine but they don't then we only have limited options like putting on a reclaim or new carburetor. It like where we can no longer get wheel and master cylinder rebuild kits for our automobiles where we can only get new or factory rebuilt ones.
Only thing you got to be careful of is all the Chinese carburetor clones flooding the market as many simply will not work properly.
As long as our manufactures keep using or having their equipment built in China this is going to be the problem. The consumers buying only the cheapest equipment they can is driving this market. Personally my shop will not even waste our time handhelds are that for under $100 as by the time we put in two to three hours and charge for only one hour plus parts the repair bills are as much as a new unit. Just can't honestly do it as we feel we are ripping off the equipment owner. Now we do a few for those that insist we do it as they do have handicaps where we do the repairs for parts only. Even then the costs are high vs replacement.
When the shop charges by the hour as mine does it can get expensive fast if we didn't use a sliding scale. Many shops in my area are $75 or more for hourly labor. Mine is much lower and it is still too much on the elcheapo handhelds.
Here is an example of the 327P4 Husqvarna repair bill. Labor 1/2 hour $18.00 Carburetor $35 plus a $14 fuel cap and this took nearly 1-1/2 hours to repair and fore mention prices was with the 10% senior citizen discount. I ended up making $5 to my part for all my effort doing the repairs. Just can't keep doing this and stay in business.

Then here is some advice from someone that has been working these cube and rotary carbs for 9 years.
Don't use carburetor cleaners although they claim you can.
Don't wire probe them. Check valves can easily damage if you do.
Do use an Ultrasonic cleaner with soap and water. You only need a small unit if only doing the cubes and rotary.
Do not use high pressure air to dry them.
If you are planning on doing multiple repairs buy the metering lever setting gauges for the Walbro W tool (2 tools now) and the Zama Z tool. The metering lever in kit are seldom set right out of the package.
Buy set carburetor mixture adjustment tools if you are planning working on multiple units. There Single D, Double D, Pac-man, 21 Spline, 7 Spline, Hex, and flat tip versions. On Pacman and single D there are small and large versions. There is a single pin version but I haven't seen one personally in my shop.
EPA tamper resistance caps will require special tools to remove and install.
