Electric/battery start gas weed eater

My elderly brother is looking for an assist starting, light, bent shaft gas weed eater. He don't want a electric. The regular gas ones require more quick arm pull strength that he have lost. My EZ start large Stihl is too heavy. I offered to weed eat his lawn but he really want to do it themselves.
Has anyone come across a weed eater an 85 year old can handle? Thanks

Has he looked at the Stihl FS40 C-E or Echo GT225i? If he can't handle either one of those electric is probably the best bet. A battery start gas unit would be pretty heavy.

There is not much in the ultra light weight line. Here is couple options that might work.
  • A Weedeater Featherlite with curve shaft but it still be a pull start although it is easier to start than the larger trimmers. Just under 10 lbs. The Echo mention above weighs about 10.5 lbs. about 15 in cut.
  • The other possible option would be a lithium-ion battery power trimmer though they are only straight shaft model. They weigh as little 5.5 lbs. about 12 in cut.

My father uses an electric stihl trimmer, has around 30 minute cut time before battery runs out. He said he likes it a lot better than his gas powered stihl due to the vibration.

It's an impossible combination.  Battery and starter onboard will make it heavy and I don't know of such a beast anyway.  Due to the configuration with a side pull line around a pulley, it isn't straightforward to put a drill or impact driver on the shaft nut like you can on a leaf blower or push mower, etc.

He's best off getting a cordless electric.
