Oil on Tiller clutch and in transmission
Oil on Tiller clutch and in transmission
I have a Honda FG200 tiller and the tines do not turn under load.
I various fora I read that the brass gear may have stripped, but I opened the transmission case and it looks fine. Transmission case is filled with thick gold oil. Is this normal, or could it be grease that has broken down over the years. There is no grease filler plugs on this transmission, so I suspect it is a sealed unit.
So I took off the transmission and found the centrifugal clutch was covered in oil. There is still oil in the crank case, so it has not all leaked out. could this be a broken seal somewhere?
Any suggestions are most welcome. Note that unlike the FG100, the transmission case does not come apart in 2 halves.
Thanks,
