PREDATOR 173cc HIGH ALTITUDE JET REPLACEMENT SIZE??

I just purchased a Harbor Freight Predator 173cc engine and to keep your warranty valid you must update/replace the existing carb jet with one that is for altitudes over 3000 feet (SERIOUSLY). I live over 7000 feet here in Colorado, so I would like to make the carb jet change before any mounting takes place. Anyone out there know where I can get the jet/kit for this change? Or, what size jet does it take for this adjustment? Of course, HF does not include one with the engine!!   Thanks, Eagle-San

Contact Harbor Freight support at 1-888-866-5797. They will refer to appropriate support site. The jet size would to be of a smaller size to offset leaner O2 contents of the available air. You engine would definitely be running over rich at your altitude.

You will need the Main Jet for 6000-8000 ft. They don't give us a part number as a way to force us to buy the part from them.

This morning I finally got through to an associate at Harbor Freight and he informed me that they do not make high altitude carb/jet replacement kits for the 173 cc Predator engine....he huddled with his supervisor after I asked about the warranty being invalid, and told me that if anything does go wrong- engine will run rich- they will honor my situation and correct it! Got his name and #, sooo- hopefully- all will be as it should be......
