Craftsman 3.5HP Edger - Leaking Gas

Hi All,

This is a brand new carb....but seems to be leaking some gas out of the fuel intake.  There is a small detacheable piece that the fuel line is connected to.  I recently replaced that, as it had some cracks in it.  Now it appears its definitely leaking from that piece.

Should I just wrap a little bit of plumbers tape on it to stop it?  It's not leaking very much.........maybe a few drops every couple of hours, but just want to take care of it.

Pictures attached.........

That is not designed to be replaced, now you have disturbed it the leak will continue. You could try something like Seal-All

AVB,

Not sure what you're talking about.......but my next step is put some plumbers tape on that fitting, or some JB Weld around the outside of it.  Maybe that will stop the gas from leaking...........if not I'll just buy a new one on Amazon and send this one back.  Its obviously defective.

It the model of the engine when referred to the 143 number.

What you are looking is a fuel fitting similar this one.

Thanks.........That could easily be replaced, but for the effort, price, and potential shipping fees, its much easier to buy a new carb on Amazon for around $15, and send this one back................
