Generac GP 15000E

Hi, Model G0057342, Serial 3003428392, it has about 15 hours on it. I have it on trickle charge now. It does not crank over. By the start button it hums for a sec. Battery tested ok with multimeter, charging anyways. Starter solenoid and starter are New. Selonoid tested good. Any ideas or known issues?

Can you manually rotate the engine crankshaft via the flywheel retainer screw/nut? If not then the engine is probably seized which can caused a cylinder being hydro locked (full of fluid). Or another mechanical problem. If hydro locked then it is likely the carburetor is leaking fuel.

If you can rotate the engine crankshaft or is it when the starter attempting to start the engine does it stop near top of compression stroke? IF so then it may be a simple valve adjustment or dropped push rod.  Although, 15 hrs is light use it isn't unheard of that they need adjusting.

Just be aware that there is relay on-broad the generator outside the engine starter's own solenoid that drives the starter solenoid and the start/run/stop switch that give problems similar to a failed solenoid shift starter. Also be aware that the relay is part of a live circuit; otherwords, it is wired hot and is ground via the starter switch to activate it. Can be easily shorted to frame ground if you are not carefully.

AVB, thank you much for the reply!! Yes the flywheel does turn with a wrench. It's a twin cylinder ( 2 spark plugs). The Start/run/stop switch hums for about 2-3 seconds and stops. No clicking from the starter/solenoid area ( silence). Its a brand new machine like we said. I will check the valve lashes. I read the manual and it states check the 10amp fuse? I guess it's so new, lol, I'm confused.. but I will check it all.. Thank you again!!

It's not my generator. Just reading the manual, there are shut offs for low oil, stale fuel, etc etc..It looks like a great machine honestly. Thanks again.
