Husqvarna ST227P with Huayi Carburetor No Start
Husqvarna ST227P with Huayi Carburetor No Start
Machine is about 5 years old roughly 20 hours of usage. Always run dry at the end of the season expect possibly last year. Went to start up the machine this season and immediately noticed my fuel valve was leaking at the switch. So I sealed it using some fuel sealer from permatex for now till my new valve arrives by mail. When I drained the gas from the tank I noticed I had a cloudy thicker substance at the bottom which makes me think I must have forgot to drain the fuel last year.
So I took off the fuel tanks, cleaned it out using berrymans b-12 and flushed it clean. Then took the carb off and cleaned it thoroughly using berrymans. Cleaned the bowl, float, needles etc. Made sure all the needle holes were clear including the holes in the intake channel. Everything blew fluid out the other end. Re-added fuel primed and still no start. All the parts looked clean mind you, I had no blockage I could see.
I am able to start the engine with starter fluid and also when I put gas down the spark plug hole. The engine has compression (180psi) as per my gauge. Plug looks pretty clean and has low hours. Took off the valve cover and springs are good and valves both move up and down when I pull the cord.
I was going to buy a new carb but its that cheap at $90 bucks, which was surprising since this thing is a Chinese. Perhaps there is a cross over number but I can't seem to find any.
Anyone have any thoughts? Could the carb just not be cleaned with spraying alone? I just don't see the where it could be dirty still at this point.
