The kill wire also attaches to the coil itself. It should have a spade connector which just slips off...
Disconnect that from the coil as we need to get spark first...

still no spark.

Is it possible there could be something wrong with the ignition switch? I have been trying to get a local shop to come fix the tractor but they’re all booked. On of them mentioned it could be something wrong with the ignition switch. Would it still turn over with a bad switch? It does crank over.

As stated earlier, if you disconnect the kill switch wire from the coil, it DIS-ABLES ALL cut off(ignition switch included) safety switches.

**Your isolating the ignition system completely from the rest of the machine with the small kill wire pulled off the coil...

I have same issue but my son shorted something out I have changed the diode harness which was burnt out , no spark then tried a voltage regulator but could not get exact part number 591970  still no spark then tried changing both magnetos part number 843931  18-1023 not available tried what i believed to be compatible for twin cylinder no spark, disconnected oil pressure wire and diode harness to ground switch , no spark, Could the alternator coil be bad ?

I have been disconnecting/ reconnecting the kill switch wire when trying different tests.

I now have a spark tester and will see if maybe it will better show a spark if there is one.

The twin cylinder engine (NOT the op's), DOES use diodes.

The single cylinder engine (the op has), doesn't use diodes.
