Found your engine and coil (part #333), coil part #291617  but I'm not sure it's for a pointless system.

I went to my local B&S parts store and explained what I wanted to do he had to order the part I picked up the part a few days ago and went to install it and I think it's a regular coil I took my old coil with me and I believe it is a "3 legged coil " the part that I got from the dealer is # 591420. Of course it didn't work, I came across this blog or whatever it is and it states that the # 591420 coil would be used for a "2 legged " coil. It also mentions this part number #289502 as a "solid state" part.

Is there a particular reason you want to change to pointless? As I'm seeing new standard/points type coils on Amazon for around $20.00. A new coil and fresh set of point will probably last many years.
