Kawasaki swap

Hi, I had a Kawasaki 17 hp FD501V-AS02 in a Simplicity that went bad. I found a cheap good running Kawasaki 15 hp FD440-AS00 from a John Deere. Both are liquid cooled. The shaft sizes are the same. Would this be a direct replacement for my Simplicity? Thanks
