Husqvarna Engine Smoke

I have -the Briggs engine with 590 hours on it. After winter I went to start it up this year, and it wouldn't catch, had to use a ton of starter fluid. But the engine started smoking , when engaging the blades. Plus some small leaking oil. When I turn off the mower, and unscrew the oil cap, there isa  little smoke coming out. I figured the gasket blew. So Took to a reputable local shop near me, and they said noting wrong with gasket at all, the engine was just dirty. But solenoid was bad so they replaced. Starts fine, but there is still some smoke coming out of the engine oil cap when I open it after running. I haven't done a mow yet, just got it back, but did engage the blades.

Very confused, how could this not have been a blown head gasket?
