2004 Bolens rear deck spring

I made the mistake of removing the rear deck pin without realizing there was a spring on it. Spring shot out back and I cannot figure out where the other end goes. On end went around the pin. I also found a hook thing which is where I believe the other end went but the is no place to install it on the frame , or anywhere else I can see. O the frame, control parts diagram it is similar to spring #36. I am unable to post the picture because I am a plumber and not a computer guy. Ant help would be appreciated. Sorry, Mod 13AM662F765.

I don't see it on the diagram or the deck where it goes, except your correct about the one end.

It appears to be a pretty heavy spring so I would expect it to attach somewhere VERY close by

It is part 36. If you notice there is the letter "c" at the other end of the spring. On that same diagram there is the clip #60 and the letter "c" next to it. The other end of the spring connects to that clip. The issue is I can't figure out where that clip is supposed to go. I have looked at all the diagrams and even watched videos trying to catch a glimpse of where it could go. I even asked people that were selling mowers on FB but most have the decks with the idler pulleys. The only place my belt is touching is the engine and 2 blade spindles. That spring pulls the entire deck backwards for the tension on the belt. i guess I need to find someone with an older deck like mine and see a picture. thanks for looking into this with me.

Looks like it attaches into that trans axle,  the line in the diagram:

I haven't worked on one like that.  Perhaps if you can get a shop manual for the machine
    would be worth the investment...
