Electric Start for Craftsman 25cc Trimmer

I replaced the short block assembly for the CMXGTAMD25SC 41AD25SC793 Engine.

I reattached the electric start cover to block, but the electric start doesn't operate the piston.  After looking at it more, does the piston arm pin need to be longer to also insert into to the electric start cover opening?

Trying to figure out how to get the electric start to actuate.

Any help/comments are welcomed.

Michael

Are you referring to the crankcase cover, part#32?

With the engine all assembled, the electric start, it's the machine I'm thing of,
simply slips into the end of the engine and turns the crankshaft directly.

In the above parts link, I don't see a SEPERATE STARTER, just the outside block...
    Is this correct?
