Briggs 10kw LP control board failure from new- finally a new AVR solved almost all issues.

I purchased a new B&S 10kw LP with 200 amp ATS, and did a self install in 2009. It would only run for 9 seconds and quit, so B&S sent a local authorized service technician to examine the situation.  Upon testing the 570cc VanGuard V-Twin engine, it was being starved of fuel, and I found that the 12v+ was not being supplied from the control board BSPP 204006 to the LP solenoid coil terminal (blue wire).  When I applied an independent 12v+ to the coil, the engine would run continuously, and I ran it for nearly 2 hours. HOWEVER, still no AC voltage output. I understand that thecontrol board might be sensing something is wrong and purposely shutting off the Propane.

P.S. 8-11-2025:  Installing a new AVR solved the no voltage issue.  Page 2 of the Briggs instructions packaged with the new AVR described how to re-flash the stator with a 12v battery, which I followed to the letter. For some reason it lost its magnetism.  That re-flash did the trick, and it now puts out 238vac under 19 amp load.  The generator runs fine, and works with the ATS however the one remaining problem is the need to connect a 12v+ jumper from the starter battery to the LP solenoid valve coil.  Even the ATS works now, nice that after sitting in the weeds for 15 years that I have a backup generator.

All issues resolved, after close examination of the over-temp switch Briggs p/n 1915124GS, which required a resoldering of one terminal, removing 15a blade fuse to reset the control board FC-09 fault code, and checking operation without the 12vdc+ jumper on the LP coil terminal.  All functional, tested grid failure, and grid restoration, and after several minutes of cooldown, it shut off and switched back to utility 240vac power.
