Stihl 018c

Hi all
I recently rebuilt my Stihl 018c chainsaw. And now Iam having some issues getting it running. Let me explain what I have done to the saw. It has a new carb new piston and cylinder new starter coil new flywheel new fuel lines and filter and I cleaned the gas tank The only way it will start is with a spray of starter fluid. Once that is done it dies right out Its like it’s not getting gas. Carb has only and idle adjustment. Thanks JR

First stop using starter fluid as you show only use fuel mix; otherwise PNC (piston and cylinder) damage can occur.

Second the IPL is only showing one fuel line. IF you got two lines then someone has modified the saw as the carburetor also only one fuel line; unless, someone also put on a non OEM carburetor.

The C1Q-S43 and C1Q-S57 carbs do have two adjustments. One is the low speed mixture and the other is Idle speed. With a new carburetor sometimes you need to initially set the idle speed nearly all the way in for max so the idle mixture can set. The initial idle mixture setting is one turn CCW from lightly set.

Once you get the initial mixture set then can slow the idle back down so the clutch disengages.
