Nikki Carburetor on Briggs and Stratton Leaking

I have a Briggs and Stratton Generator with Briggs Engine Model. 212T21  Type 0116GI.  It has a Nikki Carb.  The generator has been sitting for a while.  Put fresh gas in it opened the petcock to the tank and gas started pouring out of the carburetor specifically through the atmospheric vent.  I took apart the carburetor cleaned it and replaced the float vent needle. Put it back together and leaked exactly the same.  Any thoughts on what could be causing gas to free flow threw the carburetor besides the float vent.?

    Model correction 21T212-0116-G1.

If you didn't install a new fuel bowl gasket set then that is most likely cause as the carburetor has a separate fuel inlet o-ring that will leak as it hardens.

BTW the needle valve is fuel control valve and not a vent valve.

Thanks for the suggestion I will replace the gasket and o-ring.  I meant to say I did replace the needle valve. The gas was leaking out of the body of the carburetor as well as the atmospheric port.
