Hello I’m brand new here, and I have a question about identifying a carburetor on a Tecumseh 10 hp

Engine on my wood splitter. The only numbers I see stamped on it don’t seem to correspond to anything I can find. The numbers are 5097G9J. I’m trying to upload a photo of it but it keeps hanging up and not loading...ah there it is... can some one help me ID this? It’s about 20:years old if that helps, on. Wood General splitter we got at Orschelns farm store. I’m sure it needs to re rebuilt; he engine runs, but poorly and surges and it doesn’t have much power. I’d sure appreciate any help you could offer in identifying the carb so I can get the right kit to rebuild it.

Many thanks,

Kim Klein

A model # from the engine itself may help.

The only number I can find on the engine is GVH9935TEC, and that’s on a faded sticker on the side of the engine. I looked online for the various places that the number is located and I don’t find an engine just like the one that’s on the splitter, so I can’t find any other numbers on it. The sticker also says “Brave industries” - if That makes any difference.

Awesome!! Thank you so much - Those look identical to the one that's on there so either should work perfectly!

Thank you again - I very much appreciate your help!
