Tecumseh OH140 Parts ?'s

Newbie here so take it easy on the new guy LOL.
Now for some questions. Its all about my 1978/9 I think Sears GT14 L&G Tractor Model # 917.257031, motor is Tecumseh OH140 #143 680012.
It was given to me by a friend Free (not surprisingly) and yes it did run recently but old owner says he had to wiggly the Key while starting it, I'm not sure of why that was needed as I have turned the key all the way and pushed the push button and it only turns over No Veroom Veroom. So I sprayed Starting spray into the Carb and still no veroom veroom. Where do I go from here.
If the Magneto or Regulator/Rectifier is bad what could if at all can be used for replacement parts? Or Do I Have a DEAD HORSE ?

Pull the spark plug, ground it to the head, crank over and look for spark...
