I have a DR Trimmer need carburetor help

I have a DR Trimmer that is quite old. I need some help with the carburetor. Something in the past while it was serviced the choke return spring was altered. I’m having cranking problems and while I’m working around the carburetor I would like to get the choke to work.

There were 2 different carburetor for this engine one had a choke and the other had a primmer bulb.

Please post an ENGINE model #.. It's usually on the pull starter cowl.

Do you have any information on how I will install it. The one that is there is disconnected from what ever it attached to opposite the choke lever. Someone has sort of messed me up.

I don’t have a push primer. This machine has a throttle cable that attaches to a throttle bracket. I was having trouble getting the throttle cable to move and decided to disassemble things toward tend of the cable. That is when I discovered the spring was not like I thought it should be.

W thought I understood how this carburetor worked, but now I m not sure. If what I thought was the choke lever on top, but something to do with the governor, I m at a loss.

I’m sorry, I is a primmer system. Did not know someone had converted it from the original. When I purchased it it was a choke system.

Ok, so if it's a primer system, there's nothing to do for the choke.

The first link i sent, for the governor, is for the throttle (and the associated spring)

The throttle shaft/butterfly is ALWAYS closest to the engine, the choke, closest to the air filter.
Bring up the parts diagram and get acquainted with what's where, or some You Tube video's are helpful..

No pic's posted but the governor spring should attach to the circular part of the linkage.

It should then go to a stationary tang... RPMs can be adjusted by bending the tang.  Pulling the spring tighter, raises the RPM

    Usually "Post image" : https://postimg.cc/gallery/bn30x2q
Pic's under "hotlink for forums" work.

That or do a You Tube video

I’m sorry I don’t know how to do YouTube. I could post a photo if someone would give me permission.
