Older Kohler Generator Mechanical Fuel Pump Replace with Electric

Good day,
I have an older 4 cylinder water cooled Kohler 7KW generator that the mechanical fuel pump is bad. I am looking to replace with an electric pump.
The generator starts and shuts off with a toggle switch, no key. Where do I connect the positive wire to get power when running? Do I need any relays?
Also looking for a carb rebuild kit but having trouble figuring out what this carburetor exactly is.
Thank you

Make sure you get a 5-7PSI pump.  You don't need a relay for that small a pump.

As for installation, any positive lead when the machine is turned on is fine...

Your toggle switch MAY be just a kill/shorting the ignition, but if it is 12 volts when turned on, that'd work.

If you post a model #, it'd be easier to find parts..

    Thanks for the info.
There is a label on the engine block, the label is not legible, all I can make out is "Kohler". There is also a label on the power head Kohler 7.5C 62 and specs for that. I found a tag on the fuel pump that did not match anything searching the net. Found a picture online that resembles my unit.
    Thanks again for the help.

There are several reasons why it is not advisable to use old Japanese generators:
    1. Reliability: Older generators may have worn-out components or outdated technology, making them less reliable. They may be prone to frequent breakdowns, which can be frustrating and inconvenient during power outages.
    2. Efficiency: Older generators tend to be less fuel-efficient compared to newer models. They may consume more fuel to generate the same amount of power, leading to higher operating costs.
    3. Environmental impact: Older generators often have higher emissions and may not meet modern environmental standards.
