Husqvarna 125 BVx

Last summer my 125 BVx leaf blower started running rough and hard to start so I took it to a local shop where it sat untouched for 7 weeks so I took it back to my home (losing a $50 deposit) I replaced the spark plug, air filter, checked for spark and replaced the carb with one purchased from the Husqvarna store on Amazon. This resulted in hard to start and it would die after about 5 minutes.  I then went to a Husqvarna dealer who wouldn't touch it but told me the carbs they sell as replacements are garbage. Not the same as the originals.  Now I rebuilt the original carb with a kit from Husqvarna and it started once or twice but dies almost immediatley.  I really like the features of this machine and the fact that I can vacumn with it but I'm right at the point of putting it out with the trash.  Any thoughts? (other than the trash)

An OEM carb is always best (see link below), but I've found most of the knock off's work ok.
Most need some fine tuning which does take some experience to adjust.

Your "new" carb should have two recessed mixture adjuster screws.  They very likely need adjustment.

The screw closest to the block is for the low speed adjustment, the other for high speed.

You want to adjust the high speed for the highest, clean running RPMs.
For the low speed jet, you to get a good steady idle and quick throttle response.

Some carbs, these adjustments affect the other so it'll take some practice. If it doesn't start with no throttle, richen (open CC) the LS adjuster.

BTW, most carbs are set lean from the factory for emissions.  It's common to have to richen the mix over time for these smaller 2 strokes...

You can buy (from Flea bay), a full set of adjuster screw drivers for under $15...

I have the carb adjustment tools for low and high along with phillips for the idle.  I have tried most every combination of adjustments that I could think of along with a number from youtube videos. Small and 2 stroke engines are not my specialty but I have a fair knowledge of automotive carbs and I'm stumped.  The only thing I haven't changed is the coil though I gapped it and there is spark.  I wonder if this could be causing all this grief.

If the engine regularly dies after it gets warm, it could very likely be the coil.

When it dies, pull the spark plug wire, ground the plug(with wire attached) to the head and check for spark.  You can also just use another known good spark plug to quickly check.

If you have an in-line spark tester, hook that up and watch for spark and then possible loss of.

I've had them die when it gets hot (same as yours), just die altogether.
Just had a Stihl concrete saw that would die occasionally AND the kill switch
tab on the coil STOPPED working...

I think I'll just get the new coil as that's the last thing that hasn't been replaced.  Thanks for the replys

SRTsFZ6 - Husqvarna 150BT blower has no spark. Is there a common failure mode for Husqvarna small engines?

    No, not really IME.

Disconnect the kill wire (tab on the coil) and check again making sure you have a good ground.
Coil should have a shiny/clean ground as well.
Use a business card to set the coil to flywheel gap,
spark plug gap I believe is  .025"

If still no spark (and known good plug), replace the coil...

    They, (any coil) can/do fail...
