I already know it was dumb :-[

I have a Westinghouse 7kw generator and crossed the jumper cables when attempting to start. All's now quiet and nothing even clicking?  Where do I start to find what I've fried?  Your help is greatly appreciated.

I would think there would be a fuse (or more) and at least a relay re-set button.

If fuses are good, start tracing your 12 volts from the battery to the next point (likely starter relay or ignition switch) and so on...
