Cub Cadet XT1 42" New Battery no power to anything

Hello All! I have a Cub Cadet XT1 42" Model Number 13APA1CT056. Date of Manufacture is April 2016. 
 
The battery died end of last season and I left it outside uncovered is the first thing you should know. I got a new battery after the old one wouldn't charge (or so I thought) and I've hooked it up, I also checked the 20 amp fuse and it is good.  I have no power to the screen that displays hours/oil change info. No power to starter either. The starter solenoid looks fine meaning no rust, same for the ground near the battery. 
 
Everywhere nearby is 3-4 weeks out for a repair, so I'm going to try myself. I used to tinker with my cars/lawnmovers/boats 15-20 years ago but have other interests now, so I should be able to troubleshoot this, I just don't have any idea where to begin.
 
The couple of video's I watched suggest sensors/grounds/etc. but I don't want to waste a bunch of time and miss something simple. I do have a multimeter.
 
Where would you recommend I start?

    I would clean ALL grounds, not just look at, but remove / clean / tighten (especially the battery ground). Make sure your test light lights up at that ground (& to the battery). 
     
    If still no joy, start tracing, from the battery, your 12 volts until it's "gone"...
     
    Also, check to see if you actually have power at the fuse, both sides..

    As it's been sitting outside in the elements, spraying some liquid wrench, etc down the key hole and working the ignition switch back and forth (many times) may alleviate corroded contacts inside the switch..
