Old Style 2 HP B&S edger engine

I purchased a used 2hp Briggs for my edger. It did not have a carburetor so I put mine on it. On that side of the engine there is a small black wire coming out from the case. What do I do with this wire ? Thanks

    It's probably a kill switch wire.  
     
    Ground it when running and it should kill spark...
