Engine problems on Coleman 5000 Watt gen.

Engine problems on Coleman 5000 Watt gen.

Coleman Maxa 5000 ER Plus.  Engine starts fine and goes to gov. speed ok,but runs very good for 30 seconds the starts to miss and and shake badly but keeps running. I have changed gas line,filter.new carb. and air cleaner  I don't know anything about ignition systoms. The engine is a 10 HP  Techumseh

    Do you have a compression tool. How old is this unit. Have you tried changing and gapping the spark plug. What is the oil level at. Is this an ohv tecemseh 10 hp. I have a book on small engine repair and it is called;

    Thank you for the reply.    The engine is a flat head. Cleaned the fuel tank and everything from the tank to the engiine is new, carb. is non adjustable. I don't know the age or hours on unit. It ia very clean. It seems to have decent compression. It starts first pull every time and runs at gov. speed for 30 seconds or so then starts to shake rattle and roll. The gov. works overtime to keep it running. Plug gap is set. I feel once it runs for 30 seconds something warms up causing a problem.  Maybe something in the ignition or fether edge valve..

    Does the engine have a low oil cut off switch?
