Starter kickback
I have an old Montgomery Ward snowblower with a Briggs 190402-0653 model flathead, it sat from 2006 until last year when I got it running. I didn't really have this issue last year at least not as bad, it kicked at me one time but still managed to start and run fine. This year I went to get it running again and it's kicking back every single time. I went for the usual culprit the flywheel key it seems completely in tact(ordered new one just to be sure). This model has points and from what I've read online it should be somewhere from .017" to .020" in which mine is right on .019". I've heard of valves causing an issue on OHV motors but I haven't really found anything about these older flatheads. Any suggestions help, pretty new to this small engine stuff I primarily work on V6/V8 motors.
