Honda HRX 217

I have a old Honda HRX217 that I'm looking to rebuild. Will a commercial engine like a Kohler Command Pro or Kawasaki FJ180 engine work?

The Honda engine uses a "clutch type" end on the crankshaft where the blade would attach.
Thus, you need those parts to fit which are specifically designed to fit THAT crank.

Look at the parts diagram to see the set up..

The other engine would likely bolt up to the frame however you wouldn't have any self propulsion.
The crankshaft would likely be too long or too short for the blade...
